Kobi's First Week
Well, we made it through the first week. I kept Kobi in my office and the back hall area. He loves to play and keep himself amused. He plays for a half hour or less and then sleeps for about an hour. He probably sleeps about 22 hrs of the day. It is so funny because I tiptoe around trying not to wake him. I am out in the cold and snow with him about every hour. He relieves himself every time and also has accidents in the house in between. I honestly don't know where it all comes from. He is learning to sit, stay, down, crawl and he is really good with the sit. He is so curious and doesn't seemed frightened of anything.

Kobi's Arrival - Dec. 3, 2011
Well the day has finally arrived! We are so excited to pick up Kobi. The Saly family from Dalhousie is picking up our puppy along with their puppy( the brindle one) from the breeders today. Craig and I figured the puppy would be arriving around 3:00 p.m. so we headed over to Market Mall at around 1:00 p.m. to do some Christmas shopping while anxiously awaiting for the puppies to arrive. 6 o'clock and the puppies still haven't arrived. By this time there is a blizzard raging outside. We finally hear from Yana and head over to her house at 6:30. Apparently the roads were so bad they were only going 40 km per hour. It took them 10 hours to go to Pigeon Lake and back to Calgary again. At least the puppies were together in the same kennel. They pooped on the way home but otherwise they were okay. When we first saw Kobi, I couldn't believe how tiny he was. It was a shame having to take him away from his little sister Sadie. We had to drive home from Dalhouse in a raging snow storm but Kobi slept most of the way. When he got home he sure was curious checking out the house. We kept him in the back hall and my office. He was so sweet and cuddly and so tiny he had a hard time looking up at us. He weighed in at a whopping 3.8 lbs. His seeing is not yet fully developed as he has a hard time tracking things and his hearing is also still developing. He hears things but not too sure where they are coming from. That first night when we put him in his kennel he let out such a large yelp for such a little puppy.
Well, needless to say, that was one sleepless night. Kobi would cry loudly for about 15 minutes and then sleep for about an hour, wake up, and start all over again. The poor little thing was missing his littermates and suddenly he had to sleep alone in this big kennel. But we all made it through the night and our new life with Kobi was beginning.

These are my puppies at 2 weeks old. Their eyes and ears should be opening any day now. You can see that the noses on the little blond ones have turned black. It is really hard to see what they look like when they are all scrunched up together. The darkest blond one and the brindle one interest me and I would like to see them up close. They look nice and chubby and healthy. Hopefully next week the breeder posts individual pictures and maybe even a video. I'm thinking of Misty as a name. Does anyone have any suggestions for names?

Fanny and her pups at 5 days old. Those two black ones look like they are twice the size of the others but it is hard to tell for sure as they are all bunched together. The breeders words as she describes Fanny:
"Fanny is a funny mom for sure - I let her outside
to relieve herself, and she barely gets off the back step... squats and goes as
fast as she can, then barks to get back in with her babies. She sure does have
that mothering instinct!"
This is her first litter and she sure does look content with her little puppies. What colour should I pick, white, black, or brindle? Has anyone got any cute names I could call the little pup. Suggestions are welcome!
